These milestones of media content localization in Ukraine cover only some aspects of audiovisual translation (AVT), which we invite you to dive into at UTICamp-2021.
The agenda of the full thematic day will introduce you to selected factual information about the main types of AVT:
- Voice-over and dubbing: from script to studio;
- Subtitles: the interplay of linguistic and technical requirements, plus the basics of working with specialized software and cloud services;
- Digital accessibility: audio description, various types of direct (live) subtitling (captioning), sign language interpretation, subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing, preparing texts in accordance with the rules of plain and easy language.
We’ll also talk about other contemporary areas of activity for audiovisual translators, methods of teaching AVT in a changing market, and vital issues for the further development of an inclusive culture.
