UTICamp-2020: what's next?
In light of the latest events related to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are receiving a lot of questions about whether UTICamp-2020 will take place this summer. The question is understandable, considering the global situation and the experience of other translation (and not only translation) events.
So today we would like to calmly share our plans for the nearest future with you.
At the moment we have no plans to cancel or reschedule UTICamp-2020. As announced, the conference will take place on July 20—26, 2020 at a picturesque beauty spot in the Meteorit campsite. The whole organizing team has been following the coronavirus pandemic closely, and we continue to monitor events daily. We are ready to react flexibly to any changes and to take swift decisions, even though this is the first time that humanity has encountered such a challenge. In the event of any changes, we will notify our participants, partners, and friends as soon as possible.
As UTICamp-2020 takes place outdoors in July, when it is warm, we have every reason to believe that the situation will stabilize by then and there will be no need to reschedule the conference.
Participation and participants
126 participants and guests, and 70 online participants have already registered.
We continue to accept registrations for UTICamp-2020, and we’ll be glad to see each and every one of you.
At the moment, the refund conditions set out on our website are valid for participants who have already registered for the conference and paid their conference fee.
We will immediately notify all participants of any changes affecting the conference.
We are constantly in touch with Meteorit and the Zolotoy Plyazh hotel — the places where many of you plan to stay during the conference.
The sites are already preparing to receive their guests so that you and your loved ones can feel comfortable and enjoy the event in July.
Many of you have already decided where to stay, but we have not yet taken any payments. We plan to publish the information on accommodation in Meteorit and at Zolotoy Plyazh soon, and you will then be able to pay for it.
We have already filled almost every slot in our program, with just a few final details left to add. Just like last year, the conference program will include not only presentations in the Art of Translation, Business of Translation, Translation Technology and Localization, and Interpretation sections, but also themed roundtable discussions, interactive sessions, workshops and lots of interesting surprises!
For the moment, we are continuing our webinars and will organize more online events if we can. Follow our announcements and join online meetings with colleagues and friends from all over the world!
We still need to implement a lot of plans, and we are working on making all of them a reality. Of course, we will require your help for this. After all, UTICamp is the product of shared effort.
If you have any questions related to your participation in the conference or any other organizational issues, feel free to write to us at email@example.com. We are here to help.
Stay healthy and optimistic!
Let’s take care of each other!
